Even though Elisar was undergoing treatment for cancer, he was determined to be part of my producing team on the Stop Brexit documentary film POSTCARDS FROM THE 48%.
Elisar was a committed European and was extremely angry, which he voiced in his soft, gentle way, that the Leave campaign had told so many lies in order to secure the result that they wanted. He apologised for not doing more, but he was always there via the internet for anything I wanted.
I first met Elisar when he was in his early 20s, and he never lost that youthful energy and enthusiasm. Over the years, he was always there in Cannes, Raindance, and so many events, always a constant in one's life. Now he has gone. Far too early. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Elliot Grove, Raindance Founder: Elisar's vision and foresight, along with his tireless work, was instrumental in allowing Raindance to grow and flourish. He also really helped with the British Independent Film Awards in the early years.
Jenni Powell: Oh, no! My heart is broken.
Jasmine Cabrera: He was/is loved by so many people. He was my hero growing up. I idolized him
Susan Clarke: He honestly was the best of us.
J Sibley Law: What a special soul who will be missed by many.
Jo Jo Dye: He was really one of the good guys.
Christopher Kennedy: I spent the majority of my film biz years in the States, so never had the pleasure of working with my sweet nephew Elisar. However, his very un-Hollywood, low key, producing style, desire to boost the underdog and his generosity of spirit, was well known in his circles. Sadly, our own opportunity to work together came just a little too late, when he and his mum Caroline discussed the possibility of getting Ian Powell and I together to write the real life drama of our American artist cousins, ‘Sisters’. I so wish he’d been able to participate, and can only hope he’d be smiling that we eventually got the script finished. Fingers crossed he’ll like the movie.
Brendon Fong: Such a great guy. He gave me my first great review. He was always so accessible.
Quincy Morris: Elisar was instrumental in getting me into Raindance 2013 and invited me to speak on a panel! Omg such a great champion!! This news is heartbreaking
Stephanie Piche: He was always so willing to share his talents and encouragement. He will be so missed.
Chris Hadley: He was a great man, a great filmmaker and a great web series champion.
Sonja Suchy: He was an insightful and deeply talented man.
Dean Hoff: He always believed in my show and in me as a film maker so I will always remember him.
Rebecca Clare Morgado: Such a wonderful man. Elisar was one of the good ones. He helped me a few times and always gave me good advice.
Derek Parsons: He was always so kind and patient with me.
Tom Fletcher: He was an enthusiastic film producer who loved what he did and was a kind and generous person.
Marcus Campbell Sinclair: A wise and knowledgeable man on all things cinema and theatre and who had time for everyone especially at the networking events.
Genevieve Jolliffe: I met Elisar in our early days of indie filmmaking and he was just such a really lovely soul.
Danny Figuero: Elisar was a beautiful soul. Very kind and considerate, courteous, always generous and eager to keep everyone around him happy and content. He was always positive when all else were concerned or worried about something which always brought a calming tone to the situation when you were around him.
Ian Powell: I know he is fondly remembered by all those who knew him and by those who he taught and helped with their films, for his kind wise and humorous spirit. From first meeting him, I was struck by how incredibly assured he was and knowledgable but also how unfailingly modest and without ego. His films are out there and have a life of their own.
Tony Simpson: Elisar was a huge part of the original Frontier Wrestling Alliance, which pioneered British wresting and inspired many of the global stars of today.
Christopher Kennedy: His smile was the sweetest, warmest most embracing smile you could imagine.
Edgar Wright: His famous smile is right. I vividly remember his dry jokes and his big grin. I was happy to know him.
Kerry Norton: I will certainly remember Elisar's smiles, and so, so much more. Elisar gave me my first opportunity to work as an actor. He was always gentle and kind, never raising his voice on set, patient and tolerant, funny and sweet. I was so green back then but he never made me feel like an amateur, quite the opposite, in fact - He instilled confidence in me, and paved the way for my journey as an actor.
Paul Pierre: What a wonderful loving family you are. And Elisar was a testament to that love.
Diana Henebury: What a lovely boy with his tolerant, quiet ways, always kind and gentle and a delight. A beautifully creative boy and man.
Cary Elwes: Elisar is all about helping others before even helping himself. That’s just who he is. A beautiful, beautiful human being.
Vince Jarrett: He was an angel.
Mayumi Cabrera: I suppose you can never leave me really, bro. You are so much a part of my life, of what makes me who I am, of all my memories that you can never truly be gone.
Eileen Daley: Elisar, You are so loved by so many. Your kindness, your generosity and your sweet nature, you were blessed, I will see you again my friend.
Lisa Marie Elwes: RIP beautiful Elisar.
Maddie Kennedy: Dear Santa, can you give me an Elf if I very want one? And, for Christmas, can I have Elisar back, please?
